PRESS RELEASE

-Spanair regrets to announce that the company has taken the decision to cease operations as of this evening. The last flight will land at around 2200 on the 27th of January 2012.

-Spanair has officially notified the Spanish regulatory authorities of this decision. Throughout the day Spanair management has been coordinating with AENA and the Transport Ministry to ensure a robust contingency plan is in place.

-Due to a lack of financial visibility for the coming months, the company has had no option but to cease flying out of a duty of care for the safety of its operation and the wellbeing of all concerned. The appropriate next steps will be taken as soon as possible.

-Customers who are scheduled to fly with Spanair or who have purchased tickets for travel with our company in the coming weeks should refer to our website www.spanair.com for further information. In addition the company has set up a contact centre to deal with all passenger queries.

-The Company would like to apologise to everyone affected by this
announcement and thanks the aviation authorities for their help and support, as well as other airlines who are assisting in the re-accommodation of passengers.
